I have a tiny suspicion that some books may have missed the list because the authors declined the nomination, due to *gestures at Chengdu* 🤔
I’ve just finished Daughter of Dr Moreau and quite enjoyed it, too. Glad to see it nominated.
Not sure why I never hear about “Our Hideous Progeny”, by C.E.McGill or if it’s eligible at all? Another look-back but really good (main protagonist is the niece of Victor Frankenstein).
